War Memorial - Sowerby

Today Class 1 and Class 4 buddies walked to the War Memorial in Sowerby.  We counted all the poppies on the way and we were amazed at all the poppies on St Oswald's Church!! When we arrived at the War Memorial, we had a minute's silence and said the Eternal Rest prayer while we thought about all of the brave soldiers who have fought for our country in various wars.  It was very peaceful and we felt thankful that there are soldiers who are prepared to protect us.

Today we have had a wonderful celebration for what would have been Roald Dahl's 100th birthday!!  All the children and staff dressed as characters from his famous stories and rhymes ,and we did lots of exciting activities to remind us of his superb books!  Can you work out which characters and stories we have all come from?

June 2016

Today at All Saints, we have had a wonderful Royal day, celebrating the 90th birthday of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. We made and iced cupcakes in red, white and blue, did lots of fun royal activities and we all dressed in red, white and blue for the occasion. We even had a very special visitor - can you spot her in the photographs?! At the end of the day, we had a great big tea party fit for a Queen. Finally we all celebrated on our school field in the shape of a giant number 90!

May 2016

Bring flowers of the rarest... Today was our May Procession, organised by the Mustard Seeds and Mrs Tulloch.  Our First Holy Communicants dressed for the occasion in their First Holy Communion outfits and looked very smart.  We had a wonderful afternoon in the school grounds, praying and praising our mother, Mary before arriving in the Prayer Garden, where Mary was adorned with a crown of flowers.  We laid more flowers at her feet.  The Mustard Seeds did a fantastic job of writing and reading prayers and readings during the procession.  We thank Father Jerry for coming along to help us pray and all the parishioners and parents who were also present.
